WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) _ The IndyCar series is making another trip to an oval after a week off.
The race at the Milwaukee Mile figures to a bit different from the wheel-gripping scrums at the Fontana superspeedway two weeks ago.
There is a different rules package in place at Milwaukee, which is a flat track. There are really just two lanes at the Mile, so don’t expect to see cars going five-wide around the track.
Tensions seem to have dissipated after some drivers criticized what they called dangerous pack racing at Fontana.
At least one driver hopes to keep up the momentum. Graham Rahal won at Fontana, boosting his confidence on ovals after a fifth-place finish at the Indy 500 in May.
Will Power won last year’s race at the Mile.
