WEST PALM BEACH – Chill out South Florida style every Thursday night with the free Clematis By Night concerts, 6 – 9 p.m. in Centennial Square at the top of Clematis Street in Downtown West Palm Beach.
The highly popular, award-winning weekly Clematis By Night concert series is the place to be on Thursday nights. Since June 8, 1995 the City of West Palm Beach has staged 750 of the weekly celebrations.
Each week brings something for everyone – the first week of the month is Classic Car Night, the second week is Bike Night, and week three features fun, funky shops from Northwood Village.
It’s Motown, disco and doo wop this week (Sept. 5) with Dale Carter’s Memory Lane, and again next week (Sept. 12) with Pocket Change.
Memory Lane has been one of the most celebrated music acts in South Florida over the past decade. For the past eight seasons the group has been featured every Friday at the historic Colony Hotel on the island of Palm Beach. Memory Lane’s goal is to always exude high energy by creating the ultimate party environment, whether with doo wop, disco, pop or a touch of Latin.
Pocket Change was formed to show that old school live entertainment was far more enjoyable than lip syncing acts that were fast becoming the norm. The band always dresses to impress and delivers high-energy arrangements of favorite Motown, Stax, Philly Soul, Blues, Reggae, and Classic Rock catalogs. So dance and sing along, or just sit back, relax and enjoy “The Show” as they perform the sound track of your life.
