FORT LAUDERDALE — Legendary basketball player Earl “The Pearl” Monroe and select players from this year’s repeat NBA champion Miami Heat are among the appearances being featured during the South Florida Book Festival, set for July 26 and 27 at the African-American Research Library (AARLCC) in Fort Lauderdale.

Light jazz and refreshments will be featured during an “Evening With the Stars,” 6 – 9 p.m. on July 26, where all the authors will be present and a choice of one book is included in the $20 donation. Registration is required at broward.org/library (see Library News).
Free seminars and featured appearances include a Mystery Writer’s Workshop with novelist Angela Henry ($10, rsvp to 954-357-6170 or dscales@browardlibrary.org); as well as top-selling Christian fiction authors Reshonda Tate Billingsley, S. James Guitard and Victoria Christopher Murray.
Others include dynamic Haitian-born women authors Maria Ketsia Theodore-Pharel, Mahalia Solages, Michele-Jessica Fievre and Joanne Hyppolite.
Also, popular urban fiction authors Wahida Clark and Mary Morrison; Caribbean author and publisher Suzette Farquharson-Morgan; and international educator and author A.K. Tosu, Ph.D.
