The 12-year-old says he'll have to walk on crutches or use a wheelchair because his leg is in a cast, but otherwise he's fine. He was discharged from a Miami hospital Sunday.

Police say the gun was in classmate's backpack. When the bag was dropped to the floor, the gun fired. No charges were immediately filed.

D'Angelo's grandmother says the bullet went through the boy's knee and up his thigh.

She says two other students who wrapped a T-shirt around D'Angelo's leg kept him from losing too much blood.
