FORT LAUDERDALE — ChildNet’s Circle of Supporters, an exclusive annual giving society, recently gathered for a cocktail reception at the home of Tom and Ginny Miller, longtime supporters of ChildNet.
The reception celebrated ChildNet’s success as the highest overall performing Community Based Care (CBC) lead agency in the State of Florida.
The event also highlighted the group of visionaries, advocates and partners dedicated to raising funds and awareness for children in foster care, and for loving families who will open their hearts and homes to children in foster care. Their support helps fill the gap so that children in care can enjoy school field trips, summer camp, and extracurricular activities.”
“Our Circle of Supporters Members are our champions, visionaries, advocates, and partners in making a difference in the lives of abused, abandoned, or neglected children in care,” said Emilio Benitez, president and CEO of ChildNet. “A special thanks goes out to Ginny Miller one of ChildNet’s founders and longtime supporter. Ginny is a tireless advocate for abused, abandoned and neglected children and a huge influence in helping to make a difference in the lives of foster youth.”
During the event, Benitez and ChildNet Director of Community Relations Elizabeth Wynter honored Miller with a giant giraffe sculpture. “The giraffe has a great story, as it is symbolic of our efforts,” said Miller. “It sticks its neck out just like we all do as child advocates for children every single day.”
As the lead agency in Broward and Palm Beach counties and single private nonprofit entity responsible for administration of the local child welfare system, ChildNet brings years of dedication to protecting abused, abandoned and neglected children in the communities it serves.
ChildNet, whose mission is to protect abused, abandoned and neglected children in the communities it serves, has been chosen by the Florida Department of Children & Families as the Community Based Care (CBC) lead agency in both Broward and Palm Beach counties.
As such, it is the single private nonprofit entity responsible for administration of the local child welfare systems in each county.
The agency fulfills this responsibility by managing comprehensive networks of child welfare services providers and, in Broward, by also serving as the single centralized child welfare case management provider.
