MIAMI — Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Wansley Walters and newly appointed Miami-Dade Police Department Director J.D. Patterson Jr. will speak on the state of juvenile violence at the Juvenile Justice Forum on Monday, May, 6 beginning at 1:30 p.m., at the Miami-Dade Main Library, 101 W. Flagler St.
The free forum, hosted by Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) in partnership with the Juvenile Services Department, will provide updates on current juvenile justice legislation and their impact on local communities.
The forum also will provide an opportunity to inquire about the latest approaches to addressing neighborhood juvenile crime.
“This forum gives the community a chance to speak to two key decision-makers regarding their juvenile justice concerns,” MDEAT Executive Director John Dixon said.
“The topic of juvenile crime is a concern for many residents and this forum serves as an opportunity to address those concerns.”
