WASHINGTON (AP) – Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky is scheduled to speak on Wednesday at Howard University. Officials say that the senator's speech will focus on the importance of outreach to young voters and voters in minority communities.
Paul will also discuss the history of the African-American community's roots in the Republican party.
Paul is the son of a former presidential candidate and former longtime Texas congressman, Ron Paul.
In the Senate, Paul serves on the Foreign Relations, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Homeland Security and Government Affairs, and Small Business Committees.
