OCALA, Fla. (AP) – Deputies have arrested a man suspected of killing two employees at an Ocala motel. The shootings happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Vacation Host Inn.
A short time later, Marion County Sheriff's deputies arrested 37-year-old Kelvin Lee Coleman on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/WmFeJZ) reports 42-year-old Lester Carter and a 54-year-old woman were killed as they stood on a second floor balcony. Coleman then beat Carter in the head with a handgun.
Authorities arrested Coleman at a relative's home. They were working to obtain a search warrant early Wednesday.
Deputies say a disturbance had taken place at the motel earlier, but the victims were not involved.
No further details were immediately available.
