flore_lindor-latotue.jpgMIAMI – Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc. (FANM) / Haitian Women of Miami was founded in 1991 to work for the “social and political empowerment” of Haitian women and their families.

The organization’s 21st Anniversary Reception is set for Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Center, 260 N.E. 59th Ter., Miami.

With the theme Our Children, Our Future! the event will feature Dancing Under the Stars with Empress Adi and Rara Roc. Tickets are $100 for the business chic-attire event featuring open bar. Call 305-756-8050 to buy tickets or become a sponsor.

This year’s event will honor North Miami Mayor Andre Pierre, Marguerite Randolph, Dr. Flore Lindor-Latotue and Leita Kaldi.

Special guests this year include Regine Monestime, Esq.  and Maria Rodriguez.

An advocacy and social service agency located in the heart of Little Haiti, FANM serves the needs of low income women and their families as well as victims of abuse, neglect, violence, discrimination and racism.

The agency has championed and advocated for the rights of those who have been underserved, marginalized, disenfranchised and discriminated against in South Florida.

Sponsors range from Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey Edmondson to Macy’s and Wells Fargo.
