haiti.jpgPORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) _ A small earthquake shook Haiti's capital on Monday, causing people in the capital to scramble out of buildings in fear. U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Susan Hoover said the quake had a magnitude of 3.5.

The epicenter was 17 miles (27 kilometers) northeast of Port-au-Prince and was relatively shallow at 6 miles (10 kilometers) deep.

The tremor caused panic among some residents of Port-au-Prince who remembered the 7.0-magnitude monster that struck the southern part of the country in 2010 and killed thousands of people.

A government official said there were no immediate reports of damage.
